Every version this desk surfaced rests on unnamed sources. JNS carried “sources say” in the headline; Haaretz’s liveblog ran “sources: Kushner to visit Israel and Egypt next week.” No on-record confirmation from the White House, the Board of Peace, the Israeli prime minister’s office or the Egyptian foreign ministry was located. The trip is reported, not announced — a distinction that survives in none of the display headlines.
Assessment: The variation is in what each headline supplies for free. The Post filed pure itinerary, under Politics rather than World, with no stated purpose beyond “to talk Gaza.” Bloomberg cut Egypt out of both headline and slug, turning a two-capital trip into a one-capital one — which matters, because Cairo’s leg is where the mediation actually sits. Al Jazeera inserted the causal chain the American versions leave out: “after Netanyahu rejects” the plan, referring to the rejection reported around 9–10 August, when he conditioned withdrawal on Hamas disarmament.
