What to send
A correction
The story URL and what is wrong with it. That is enough — you do not need to explain who you are or why you care. What happens next is set out in the corrections policy.
A tip or a document
Anything you can point at. Primary material is most useful: a filing, a statement, a tracked figure, a photograph with a date on it. Say plainly whether you want to be named, and assume ordinary email is not secure.
A right of reply
If you are named in a story and want to answer it, write and you will get a reply. Substantive responses are published with the story.
Republication
Quoting with a link needs no permission. Republishing a story in full, translating it, or running it in another outlet does — write, and it is usually yes.
