UN disarmament chief Izumi Nakamitsu told the Security Council on Thursday that an OPCW team verified the destruction of 42 aerial bombs in Syria. She also said potentially large quantities of undeclared agents remain unaccounted for.

Four shells landed around Bat al-Warda on Thursday, the latest in a run of strikes since mid-August. The Syrian foreign ministry, which condemned a drone strike on the same road two weeks ago, issued no statement.
